Bulgarian for Absolute Beginners — Live Cohort

A welcoming 8-week cohort for students who have never opened a Bulgarian book before. We start from the Cyrillic alphabet and move through everyday greetings, numbers, family vocabulary, and your first real conversations. We meet twice a week for 60 minutes on Jitsi. Every class is part new material, part guided speaking practice with classmates. Worksheets and audio drills are shared after each session so you can review at your own pace. By week 8 you'll be able to introduce yourself, order food, ask for directions, and hold a simple chat about your day. No prior experience needed — just curiosity and a willingness to make friendly mistakes.

Conversational Bulgarian — Intermediate Cohort

For learners who can already read Cyrillic and handle basic greetings. We turn passive knowledge into fluent everyday speech. Each 75-minute session is themed (a market, a doctor's visit, a job interview, a dinner with friends) and built around role-plays in breakout rooms. Yana models the dialogue, then sends you in pairs to try it yourself before we regroup. Groups are capped at 8 students so everyone speaks every class. Expect to feel tired in the best way after each session. Ideal for travelers planning a trip, expats settling in Sofia or Plovdiv, and heritage learners reconnecting with the language at home.

Bulgarian Culture & Cuisine Live Workshop

A bilingual 4-week experience for the curious. Half language class, half cultural deep-dive — we cook banitsa together over Jitsi, decode the lyrics of Bulgarian folk songs, and trace the alphabet from Saints Cyril and Methodius to the modern keyboard. Language level is gentle (A2 friendly) but everyone leaves with new vocabulary, a working banitsa recipe, and a playlist of songs to keep practicing with. Weekly themes: Food & Family · Music & Dance · History & Holidays · Modern Sofia.
